Dubai Creek at Day

The Dubai Creek that divides the the city's Deira and Bur Dubai areas has a long stretch that tells much of the Emirate's beginnings. There's history and culture to see from the oldest building that is the Al Fahidi Fort which houses the Dubai Museum, to the Heritage Village and the Bastakiya. All these are found on the Bur Dubai side.

Along the Deira side, old wooden dhows that traverses the gulf waters are still seen up to this day. This tells about Dubai as a trading port in the olden times. It had now grown into a huge industry that the creek way far cannot accommodate, which can now seen in bigger ports around the Emirates, including Jebel Ali.

For us, Deira Creek has occasionally remained a hangout. The best time are during winters when the skies and waters are blue and the weather is cool to watch or chase birds.
We enjoy crossing the creek, both with the abra and the water bus which only costs us per person AED 1 for the abra and AED 2 for the water buses.
