Dubai from my lens - #1

It's another lazy weekend at home for us since the air outside offers free sauna at uncomfy 42 deg Celsius. So here I am with my 5th post for the month -- photos!

Early morning drizzle at Clock Tower, Deira Dubai in January. I am wishing it rains if that would give us respite from the scorching summer heat in the desert now.


How much do you know Indians and Pakistanis? While man-to-man HHWW (holding hands while walking) is awkward for most nationalities, it is but a norm for them.
Weekend breakfasts outside aren't always expensive. This one's at Bite Cafe past an inconspicuous entrance from the Iconic fashion store at Deira City Center. Breakfast plate + coffee = AED 24.


 We frequent The Walk at JBR as most of the restos have vouchers in The Entertainer for that 'You and your guest are cordially invited to enjoy one complimentary MAIN COURSE when a MAIN COURSE of equal or greater value is purchased' discount. There's always slow pace (traffic) to drive inside and it takes awhile to park on the weekends, however yesterday was not, that we thought it's unusual :)

The creek at night taken from TwinTowers along Baniyas Road in Deira. Across is Bur Dubai. This is exactly from the food court veranda where we had an order of AED 35 Shabu Shabu complete with a cooking pot (see inserted picture, lower left). Can I call the place another Filipino tambayan? The veranda wasnt even enough to accommodate the Filipino patrons, others had to wait standing.

    Hay wish ko lang umulan nga.Mainit na rin dito sa Al Ain pero pagdating ng 5pm kaya na, lalo na sa mga deserts at sa jebel hafeet hindi pa gaanong masakit sa balat.

    One of the reasons why I like going to Dubai kahit once a month lang kasi gusto ko panoorin ang mga doves sa Dubai Creek.

    Speaking of HHWW, may nakita ang bunso ko today na naglalakad na mga Pakitanis pagkagaling namin sa church, sabi ba naman sa akin, "Mama bakla ba sila? :))

    Love the photographs, specially the last one. HHWW between men is indeed awkward (regardless of nationality).

    the men holding hands reminded me of my younger days with my cousins. we used to cross the streets holding hands too.
